I have the pleasure of staying in the Sir Edmund Hillary suite at this hotel. I have previously stayed on lower floors at the Shangri La. This room was perfect in every way, especially for the last few days after a trek. The room was very spacious and well fitted out. The bathroom was great as well. The included breakfasts each day offered a wide variety. I have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. I would strongly advise if you intend staying here to stretch the budget just a little .. it's well worth it.

A Home Away-from Home with some Tips We stayed at the Shangri-La on four different occasions overa month visit to Nepal. Everyone at the hotel were always welcoming and gracious, and did their very best to accomadate our every need. It is the perfect oasis to come back from work, travel, or trekking and rejuvenate in the lovely and quiet garden. Interior of the restarant can be noisy, the garden terrace can be really lovely.

Two night stay at end of incredible trip to Nepal Hotel is very comfortable, clean and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice for everyone. We stayed for 2 nights and there were functions every day and night but it was interesting to see the changes of décor and flower arrangements. We were concerned it would be noisy but it wasn't and it gave us wonderful opportunities to people watch especially as there were two weddings with lots of guests.

A nice hotel to stay when in Kathmandu, rooms are nice but the best part is food and beverage service team, they really look after the guests well, special mention to sangeeta, Kabita and naaru for their hospitality as it really stands out, as I am from hotelier background can notice genuine service and must say Nepalese hospitality is impressive, will visit again.

I love ShangriLa at Asia, everywhere I go, I try to book a ShangriLa, so when I plan a trip to Bhutan, this hotel was our transit hotel to the next day to flight away. After Bhutan we went back to ShangriLa and not disappoint what I got.
