Fire broke out at the Casino Shangri~La on the top floor on June 05, 2013 around 4:40pm. The electric short circuit in the store room caused the fire, which was contained by the fire brigade. The speedy action from the firefighter's team promptly executed the emergency evacuation and fire control in the Casino Building.

The Shangri~La Hotel which is adjacent to the Casino Building was safe and unaffected by the fire incident. However for proactive safety reasons, the guest were evacuated and escorted to the Garden area until the situation was normal.

The Hotel and Casino is in regular service to its guests and patrons.

We heartily thank the Firefighters and personnel from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Juddha Barun Yantra, Kathmandu Municipality, Lalitpur Fire Brigade for their prompt and timely action in controlling the fire within an hour.
